Dmitry Malenko

Born in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. - /* skips all the boring details to the fun part */ - In 1996 I entered the Liceum of Information Technologies and it became a place where my passion to computer technology and software really began. No wonder that upon graduation from the Liceum I entered the department of Applied Mathematics of Dnipropetrovsk National University. In 2004 I graduated from the University with a master's degree in Computer Science.

From then (and, actually, even before) I've been working here and there as Software Development Engineer, Development Lead and Project Manager. Primarily my job was in offshore software development. During my early days in software engineering I was lucky to get experience with different, sometimes even opposing, sets of technologies. The studing of phenomenon of UNIX led me to appreciation of good engineering in general and to Linux and open-source in particular. Academic research related to functional programming allowed me to better understand role of mathematics and formalization in software engineering. Acquaintance with Microsoft technologies gave me better idea of business-related issues of software development. And finally my own experience showed me the importance of proper development organization. This led me to the field of software project management.

During some time ago I had been a member of ALT Linux Team. Currently I owe Microsoft Certified Solution Developer for Microsoft .NET title. Also I have passed Microsoft exam on "Planning, Building and Delivering IT-Solutions with Microsoft Solutions Framework 3.0".
